Do you have a great idea, but don’t understand the development process? Interested in producing your own TV show? Already a writer and looking to perfect your pitch?
CAPE and CBS are proudly offering the two-night signature CAPE TV Pitch Lab once again! The exclusive members-only CAPE event will be held on Feb. 15 and Feb. 29 at 5:30PM for both nights. Catering will be provided by CBS.
The event is almost sold out, so please RSVP online to ensure your spot for this amazing opportunity.
Deadline for RSVPs and/or submissions is Monday, February 6, 2012 at 5PM PST.
CAPE member Teresa Huang attended twice and recently sold a pitch to CBS, thus we encourage CAPE members to repeat the lab.
The first evening on Feb. 15 will feature a panel of industry experts. Panelists will discuss each step of the development process, the pitch calendar, the marketplace, and the journey from script to “pilot pick-up” to “series launch.” A Q&A will follow the panel.
Last year’s panelists included Christina Davis (SVP, Drama Series Development at CBS), Quan Phung (Head of TV at Stuber Pictures; former SVP, Creative Affairs – Comedy at 20th Century Fox), and Lucia Cottone (VP of Series Development and Current Programming at Lifetime Television).
The second evening on Feb. 29 allows select finalists to pitch their projects to industry professionals. The art of the pitch is one of the most difficult to master, whether you are a writer, director, producer, or executive. This is a unique and rare opportunity to hear honest, non-judgmental responses to you and your idea, and we strongly encourage you to apply.
Finalists must attend the first session to be considered. Members interested in pitching must RSVP online and submit a one-sentence logline and a short paragraph (no more than 100 words) description of your scripted idea. Please email submissions to info@capeusa.org with “CAPE TV Pitch Lab: Your full name” in the subject line.
Confirmed attendees will receive an email confirmation no later than Friday, February 10, 2012 with further details regarding location, parking, and the release form.
