CAPE TV Pitch Lab Sponsored by CBS

CAPE is proudly joining forces with CBS once again to offer the CAPE TV Pitch Lab–an interactive and educational forum designed for members interested in writing and/or producing for television.

The CAPE TV Pitch Lab is a two-night signature CAPE members-only event on Feb. 15 and Feb. 29 at 5:30PM.

RSVP and submissions are now closed.

CAPE member Teresa Huang attended twice and recently sold a pitch to CBS, thus we encourage CAPE members to repeat the lab.

The first evening will feature a panel of industry experts, as they discuss television script development, the pitch calendar, the journey from script to “pilot pick-up” to “series launch,” and today’s rapidly changing environment. Previous panelists include Christina Davis (SVP, Drama Series Development at CBS), Beth Miyares (VP, Drama Development at CBS Television Studios), Eric Kim (VP, Current Programs at CBS Television Studios), Jonathan Koa (Executive Director, Comedy Development and Programming at ABC Entertainment Group), independent producer Jonathan Levin, Quan Phung (Head of TV at Stuber Pictures; former SVP, Creative Affairs – Comedy at 20th Century Fox), and Lucia Cottone (VP of Series Development and Current Programming at Lifetime Television). A Q&A session will follow the panel discussion. Capacity for the first session is limited, so please RSVP online.

The second evening allows select finalists to pitch their projects to industry professionals. This is a rare opportunity to receive personal feedback on your ideas and pitching style. Finalists must attend the first session to be considered. Members interested in pitching must RSVP online and submit a one-sentence logline and a short paragraph (no more than 100 words) description of your scripted idea. Please email submissions to info@capeusa.org with “CAPE TV Pitch Lab: Your full name” in the subject line. Deadline is Monday, February 6, 2012 at 5PM PST.

Due to the unique nature of this event, participation is restricted to current CAPE members. To join or renew, please visit our website at: capeusa.org/cape-membership.

Confirmed attendees will receive an email confirmation no later than Friday, February 10, 2012 with further details regarding location, parking, and the CAPE TV Pitch Lab Release Form.

Please note: This is an educational opportunity only. Participants of the second session will be asked to sign a release form, which acknowledges that ideas presented are not for professional purposes and that executives and producers present may have similar ideas in development or in the future.
