The Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) is the largest and most connected professional Asian Pacific Islander non-profit organization in Hollywood. Since 1991, CAPE has been advancing diversity and Asian Pacific Islanders in entertainment and media arts by providing educational programs and networking opportunities.
CAPE has helped launch careers at all levels of talent — introducing Academy Award-winning Director Ang Lee to the US market and discovering 2009 CAPE New Writers Awards TV winner Aaron Ho, who was subsequently staffed on ABC’s hit comedy COUGAR TOWN. Our extensive membership is comprised of actors, writers, directors, producers, studio executives, and other entertainment professionals. CAPE members benefit from year-round events such as CAPE TV Pitch Lab sponsored by CBS, CAPE Casting Workshop sponsored by ABC Disney, CAPE Speaker Series sponsored by Sony, CAPE New Writers Awards sponsored by FOX, CAPE Celebrity Poker Tournament and our annual Gala!
The CAPE Internship Program strives to cultivate future leaders by offering interns hands-on experience and a birds-eye view of Hollywood. In addition to developing leadership skills, this can be a great networking opportunity for those aspiring to participate in the entertainment industry. The position is part-time (10-20 hours per week) and for academic credit.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to assisting the Executive Director, handling daily administrative tasks, coordinating CAPE events, and managing CAPE social media. Strong communication skills are paramount, as interns consistently interact with CAPE Board Members and entertainment professionals. Candidates should have strong computer skills, which include proficiency in Mac and Microsoft Office. Knowledge and understanding of website HTML, social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube), and design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) is a definite plus. Additionally, the candidate should be detailed-oriented, proactive, naturally curious and responsible with sensitive and confidential information.
