SHANGHAI CALLING Official Trailer

The SHANGHAI CALLING official poster and trailer has just been released.

Filmed entirely on location in Shanghai, China, the romantic comedy stars Daniel Henney, Eliza Coupe, Bill Paxton, Geng Le, Zhu Zhu, and Alan Ruck.

SHANGHAI CALLING tells the story of modern-day Americans in an unfamiliar land. An ambitious New York attorney, Sam, is sent to Shanghai on assignment, but he immediately stumbles into a legal mess that could spell the end of his career.

CAPE Digital Marketing Initiative Last Call for Entries

Deadline for CAPE Digital Marketing Submissions is approaching on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11:59PM PST.

Submit a 1 to 5 page proposal about how you can make the next great digital video for the FOX new series TOUCH.

Your marketing strategy should touch on the topic of family relationships, which includes but are not limited to father-daughter bonds, reconnecting with others, or challenging societal constraints.

Please email your submission to info@capeusa.org with “Digital Marketing Initiative: Your full name” in the subject line. Proposals should be attached in Word or PDF format along with a signed release form. Release forms may also be mailed to the CAPE Office postmarked by Feb. 17, 2012.

Three winners will receive up to a $1000 budget to produce their digital video and be invited to exclusive master classes taught by top FOX and CAPE executives. The winning videos may also be played on FOX.com and aired on TV to promote the series in March.

CAPE TV Pitch Lab Finalists Announced

CAPE recently announced the 10 finalists of the CAPE TV Pitch Lab. Finalists will have a chance to pitch their projects in front of industry executives. The program is designed to offer writers an intimate setting to practice their pitching style and gain valuable feedback.

Executive Vice President of Drama Series Development at CBS Entertainment Christina Davis will be among the executives finalists will pitch to. Davis was also in attendance at the first CAPE TV Pitch Lab session on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at CBS Radford. Other panelists included Beth Miyares (VP, Drama Development at CBS Television Studios), Eric Kim (VP, Current Programs at CBS Television Studios), Jonathan Koa (Executive Director, Comedy Development and Programming at ABC Entertainment Group), and independent producer Jonathan Levin. The panel was moderated by CAPE President Steve Tao.

YouTube NextLab Openings

YouTube Next Lab is looking for a Senior Content Strategist in Asia Pacific (Tokyo). Candidates should have a background in content production and programming, especially online video creation experience.

The role helps YouTube Next Lab partners, including rising talent, premium partners, and channels in the YouTube Original Programming Initiative, with content strategy and programming. The position is based in Tokyo, Japan and proficiency in Japanese, Korean, or Mandarin is preferred.
