Congratulations to Andrea Wong on joining Sony Pictures Entertainment with not only one but two roles!
Wong has been named President of International Production for Sony Pictures Television as well as International President for Sony Pictures Entertainment. Under her second title, Wong will report to Sony Pictures Entertainment Chairman and CEO Michael Lynton, who commented that “Andrea is a truly unique talent who… will be an important ambassador for Sony Pictures in the international marketplace.”
Prior to Sony, Wong was president and CEO of Lifetime Entertainment Services, where she oversaw Lifetime Television, Lifetime Movie Network, Lifetime Real Women, and Lifetime Digital.
Congratulations to CAPE Co-Chairperson Wenda Fong on being the busiest person in Hollywood with this week’s premiere of The X-Factor and the recent announcement of Chef Gordon Ramsay’s newest reality show on FOX!
Wenda is the Vice President of Alternate Entertainment for the FOX Broadcasting Company and presently oversees other hit TV shows such as American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance and Hell’s Kitchen.
The X-Factor premiered on FOX this past Wednesday, September 21 with healthy ratings despite a competitive time-slot.
Gordon Ramsay’s latest reality show is targeting hotels with the working title, Hotel Hell. Ramsay will travel across the country with hospitality experts, while they attempt to fix struggling bed and breakfasts, hotels, and motels. To celebrate the October 4th Blu-ray release of Jackie Brown (including new features and extras), Film Independent will be screening the legendary third film by director Quentin Tarantino. His adaptation of Elmore Leonard’s crime novel “Rum Punch” centers on a genre-shattering recasting of the lead character with ’70s black film icon Pam Grier. Jackie Brown is both breathy and ballistic, with a cast that includes Samuel L. Jackson, Robert De Niro, Bridget Fonda, Chris Tucker, and Robert Forster (in his Oscar® nominated performance).
The film¹s iconic star and black action film heroine Pam Grier and Robert Forster will be in attendance for a Q&A following the screening.
