CAPE Advisor Dean Devlin Brings THE LIBRARIAN Back to TNT as a Series

DeanDevlinTHE LIBRARIAN is coming back to TNT as a television series. 10 episodes have been ordered by the network, based on the original movie. CAPE Advisor Dean Devlin‘s Electric Entertainment is back on as producer. They were responsible for the original three LIBRARIAN movies.

Noah Wyle, Bob Newhart, and Jane Curtin are in talks to reprise their roles from the movies. The proposed series would revolve around a group of younger men and women eager to become Flynn Carsen’s (Wyle) successor as the protector of secret artifacts.

Devlin and Electric Entertainment are responsible for hits such as “Leverage” and INDEPENDENCE DAY.

Fox Purchases Untitled Cary Fukunaga Project

Cary FukunagaCongratulations to Cary Fukunaga. Fox has preemptively bought his untitled project for mid-six figures. It’s set in a contemporary war time context and will be written by Nicole Riegel. Fukunaga will also produce with Anonymous Content’s Michael Sugar. Fox’s Kira Goldberg and Emma Watts are point on the project.

Fukunaga directed the crime drama “True Detective”, the critically acclaimed eight-episode limited series for HBO starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.


NBC Pilot “Coercion” Casts Kenneth Choi

Kenneth ChoiCongratulations to Kenneth Choi on joining the cast of the NBC drama pilot “Coercion”. The story revolves around the O’Connor family and their extremely intelligent son, Alex, a decorated American war hero and newly minted CIA analyst. Choi will play Sam Luttrell, the CIA station chief for New York. Based on the Israeli format “The Gordin Cell”.

Choi recently co-starred in the Martin Scorsese film THE WOLF OF WALL STREET with Leonardo DiCaprio and Matthew McConaughey.

CAPE Advisor Teddy Zee to Produce Korean Adaptation of Original “Homeland”

Teddy_ZeeCAPE Advisor Teddy Zee is set to produce a South Korean adaptation of the original version of “Homeland”, the Israeli drama “Prisoners Of War”. The story will focus on the North Korea conflict.

The Korean version of the show will star actor Kim Nam-gil. Producing with Zee are Youngbeom Jeong, CEO of Star J Entertainment and ABC consultant Sebastian Lee.

“We believe that the ongoing conflict between South Korea and North Korea makes the adaptation of Prisoners of War especially compelling and timely,” said Zee.

Albert Kim in Overall Deal With 20th Century Fox TV

Albert KimAlbert Kim has signed a two-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV. Kim will be working on 20th TV’s upcoming series “Hieroglyph” and will later join the second season of “Sleepy Hollow” as a co-executive producer.

Kim spent four seasons on “Nikita”, writing/co-writing a number of key episodes, including the series finale. He began his career as a journalist for Sports Illustrated, Entertainment Weekly, and People, and also worked on TNT’s “Leverage” and FX’s “Dirt”.

Kal Penn to Star in CBS’s “Battle Creek”

kalpenn2Kal Penn will star in CBS’s “Battle Creek”, from Vince Gilligan (“Breaking Bad”) and David Shore (“House”). The series, produced by Sony Pictures Television and CBS Television Studios, centers on a detective and an FBI agent with very different world views who are teamed up to clean up the semi-mean streets of Battle Creek, MI. Penn will play another local detective who initially has reservations about the newly arrived FBI agent. Gilligan and Shore will executive produce, with Shore serving as showrunner.


NBC’s “Old Soul” Cast Greta Lee

Greta LeeGreta Lee is set to co-star opposite Natasha Lyonne in NBC‘s single-camera comedy pilot “Old Soul”. Lyonne stars as reformed wild child Nadia who has a business caring for the elderly and feels she has more in common with her colorful old clients than she does with people her age. Lee plays Alix, Nadia’s loyal friend with a type A personality and “will not fail” attitude. “Old Soul” is co-created by Amy Poehler, Josh Bycel, and Jonathan Fener and directed by David Wain.

The promotion comes on her 10th year anniversary at CBS Entertainment and she has signed a new contract through 2017. Tassler will continue to report to her long-time boss, CBS Corp. president and CEO Leslie Moonves.

During her time at CBS, Tassler was responsible for adding hit shows like “The Big Bang Theory”, “How I Met Your Mother”, “The Good Wife”, “Person Of Interest”, “Blue Bloods”, and “Elementary”.

Mora StephensZIPPER, written and directed by Mora Stephens, stars Richard Dreyfuss, Patrick Wilson, Lena Headey, and Penelope Mitchell. The Darren Aronofsky-produced film parallels the real-life scandals of former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer and former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner.

Wilson plays Sam Ellis, a successful family man who has it all until he risks losing everything due to his indiscretions.
