2015 Asian Hall of FameThe Robert Chinn Foundation has announced the honorees for the 2015 Asian Hall of Fame: CAPE Board Member Carrie Ann Inaba, Benson Henderson, Jeanette Lee, and Betty Nguyen!

The Asian Hall of Fame is the premier initiative of the Robert Chinn Foundation. Since its founding in 2004, the mission of the Asian Hall of Fame is to honor achievement, inspire the next generation, and build the national community of Asian Pacific Americans.

The 2015 Asian Hall of Fame will be held in Seattle on Saturday, June 6, 2015. Congratulations Carrie Ann!

“Internment” explores the lives of a gifted but deeply dysfunctional Japanese American family forcibly reunited by the internment of all Japanese Americans during World War II.

CAPE Advisor Lou Diamond Phillips Presents a Staged Reading of BURNING DESIRE

Lou_Diamond_Phillips_at_CPTA staged reading of BURNING DESIRE, written by CAPE Advisor Lou Diamond Phillips, is set for Wednesday, January 28th at 8:00PM.

BURNING DESIRE is a romantic comedy about two people who fall in love but Lucifer (played by Phillips) challenges them with the dilemma of receiving true love in exchange for their immortal souls.

The reading will take place in New York City at St. Malachy’s Church at The Actors Chapel, on Wednesday, January 28th at 8:00PM. The event is open to the public.

Cheng has been involved with APEX for the last five years, first as the Chair of Professional Development, and then moved on to be the Director of Professional Development.

While being involved with APEX, Cheong has been a major supporter of CAPE as our Volunteer Coordinator for six years.

CAPE Congratulates

The National Book Critics Circle Tuesday announced 30 finalists for its annual literary awards, given to the best autobiography, biography, criticism, fiction, general nonfiction and poetry of 2014.

CAPE would like to congratulate Vikram Chandra and Chang-rae Lee on being two of the 30 finalists for National Book Critics Circle awards.


Vikram ChandraChandra is a finalist in the Criticism category for “Geek Sublime: The Beauty of Code, the Code of Beauty” (Graywolf Press).


Chang-rae LeeLee is a finalist in the Fiction category for “On Such a Full Sea” (Riverhead Books).

Winners of the National Book Critics Circle awards will be announced on March 12 at the New School’s Tishman Auditorium in New York. The awards are nominated and chosen by the group’s board of 24 critics and book review editors.
