CAPE is always looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team! CAPE Task Force members are volunteers who champion CAPE's mission and support the organization’s programming, events, communications, research, database, and more.
Individuals may join one of three CAPE Task Forces. Each task force focuses on a specific scope of strengths and responsibilities. If you have experience in any of the following, we encourage you to apply!
The Communications Task Force assists with content development for external social media channels and external communications.
The Insights Task Force provides valuable support for CAPE-led research and reports, fundraising, and the largest database of API talent in entertainment.
The Programming Task Force executes in-person and virtual events that expand CAPE’s reach in the API and broader community.
WHAT WILL CAPE TASK FORCE MEMBERS GIVE?
Minimum 1 year commitment with 3-5 hours contributed per week (with potential increase in hours during active programming and other campaigns)
Attendance at 2 CAPE Task Force virtual team check-ins per month
CAPE content amplification through social media platforms and messaging channels
WHAT WILL CAPE TASK FORCE MEMBERS GET?
Select invitations to CAPE-hosted and CAPE-partnered events, such as screenings, mixers, and more
Applicable work experience and opportunities to learn more about the entertainment industry
Opportunities to connect deeply with CAPE's community of Asian and Pacific Islander artists and leaders in entertainment and media
Be part of a vibrant and growing community of APIs in entertainment!
CAPE IS RECRUITING FOR THE FOLLOWING:
COMMUNICATIONS
Location: Remote, Los Angeles
The Communications Task Force assists with content development for the external social media channels and external communications.
Duties may include:
Drafting copy for external communications and social media channels
Editing video footage for social media assets (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)
Drafting press releases
Consider applying if you have experience in any of the following: Social Media Content Creation, Short Form Video Content Creation, Email Newsletter, Video Editing, Graphic Design, Website Management, Press Releases
INSIGHTS
Location: Remote, Los Angeles
The Insights Task Force provides valuable support for CAPE-led research and reports, fundraising, and the largest database of API talent in entertainment.
Duties may include:
Assist with current database project management to ensure accuracy
Providing strategic input and gathering data for reports
Exploring grant and fundraising opportunities
Consider applying if you have experience in any of the following: Research, Data Entry, Database Moderation, Database Management, Salesforce
PROGRAMMING
Location: Los Angeles Only
The Programming Task Force (LA based only) executes in-person and virtual events that expand CAPE’s reach in the API and broader community.
Duties may include:
Assisting in communication with key event partners and sponsors
Managing event logistics and production leading up to and day of event
Designing event programs, copy, and other assets
Capturing photos and video footage at CAPE events

The CAPE Task Force requires a minimum 1 year commitment with 3-5 hours contributed per week (with potential increase in hours during active programming and other campaigns) and attendance at 2 virtual team check-ins per month. Failure to fulfill this time commitment may result in termination of your position as a CAPE Task Force member.
Participation in a CAPE Task Force will not affect your eligibility for, or participation in, any of CAPE's fellowships, grants, events, and other initiatives.
