Why make a database?

The CAPE Database aims to advance representation for Asian and Pacific Islander (API) talent, creators, and executives by creating the largest and most inclusive directory of API individuals working primarily in film and television. Since its humble beginnings in 1991, CAPE has championed diversity by educating, connecting, and empowering API artists and leaders in entertainment with unparalleled fellowship programs, cultural content consulting, talent referrals, and championing projects for critical box office and streaming success.

The CAPE Database is the next step in growing this network of API talent - and most importantly, it is free, accessible, and the first of its kind. By providing this database of API talent, we aim to eliminate barriers to staffing film and TV projects, both in front of and behind the camera.

How do I use it?

Easy! This Database is publicly accessible and runs on information submitted by its users. If you are an API working professional in film and TV, simply register your own profile. You will have the option to register your profile with as many as three active talent types: Writer, Producer, Executive, Director, Crew, Consultant, Actor, Animation, and Rep. 

Once you’ve registered your profile, we encourage you to fill it out as thoroughly as possible. Think of it as a resume! 

If you are using the Database to find API talent for your next project, simply click on a talent type to begin your search. Each tab has specific field selections that allow you to narrow your search by language fluency, ethnicity, previous job experience, and more. 

We encourage users to view the CAPE Database as a starting point for their search. Please note that the CAPE Database runs on user-generated content, therefore inclusion within the CAPE database is not an endorsement of an individual.
