Head of Communications | CAPE

​Jes Vũ is the Head of Communications at CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment), the longest-running organization championing AANHPI people, stories and culture in Hollywood. Jes has been a long-time associate of the CAPE family having been a volunteer, independent contractor as well as a Program Associate of the CAPE New Writers Fellowship in 2016 before returning to the CAPE team in April 2021.

A proud child of Vietnamese refugees, Jes grew up in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia (GO BIRDS!) before completing her education in Washington, DC at American University's School of Communications receiving her B.A. in Film & Media Arts. She eventually migrated west to Los Angeles and worked at various production companies, studios and for independent producers.

Prior to CAPE, she served as one of the Story & Cultural Consultants on the Southeast Asian Story Trust for Disney Animation's Academy Award-nominated film RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON and the Project Manager for “Rise: A Pop History of Asian America from the Nineties” from authors Jeff Yang, Philip Wang and Phil Yu. She was also a Producer on Corey Deshon’s directorial horror/thriller arthouse feature DAUGHTER and Sing J. Lee’s Sundance Award-winning feature film THE ACCIDENTAL GETAWAY DRIVER.

Highly passionate about supporting her Vietnamese communities, she formerly served as a Board Member of VAALA (Vietnamese American Arts and Letters Association). Returning to her roots, she joined the Board for the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival. She is currently based in Los Angeles.
