AARON HO

Upon graduating high school in the suburban paradise that is Fresno, CA, Aaron realized his two greatest passions in life were poker and filmmaking. So naturally, he decided to use his poker winnings to pay his way through film school at the University of California, San Diego.

The defining moment in Aaron’s life came at age 25 when he unexpectedly inherited his father’s engineering business. Wanting to both honor his family and continue his path toward writing, he took on the task of working as a writer’s PA by day and CEO by night. That whirlwind experience led to new writing samples, landing Aaron a coveted spot in the Disney ABC Television Writing Program. Soon after, he was hired as a staff writer aboard the ABC show, "Cougar Town," where he wrote his first produced episode and dated many cougars in the name of research.

Afterward, Aaron was hired onto the hit Disney Channel sitcom, "Austin & Ally." During his four years on staff, he wrote fifteen episodes for the series, rose to the level of co-producer, and learned everything needed if he’d ever like to switch careers and become an overnight, teenage, pop star.

Following that, Aaron wrote for several comedy-variety specials produced by Nickelodeon, such as the "Ho Ho Holiday Special," "Not So Valentine’s Special," and "Sizzling Summer Camp Special." This began a long friendship with the network, culminating in the sale of multiple pilot scripts with another project currently in development.

Aaron then ventured into the world of animation, writing on staff for the original Netflix series, "Trolls: The Beat Goes On!" This was quickly followed by a stint on his dream job – writing for the final season of ABC’s groundbreaking comedy, "Fresh Off The Boat."

In addition, Aaron’s past writings have earned him the New Writers Award given by the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE), and a Finalist Award at the Austin Film Festival Teleplay Competition.

Aaron’s writing mainly focuses on comedies featuring culture clash, hopeless romantics, and loud families oddly similar to his own. It's only fitting as these themes are ever-present in his personal life. Aaron recently married his longtime girlfriend -- a vivacious, white, country gal from middle-of-nowhere Montana who has somehow managed to win over his strict Chinese immigrant family. When not writing, Aaron can be found playing poker to fund his addiction to Southern California theme parks or admiring his spoiled ragdoll cat, Lilo, named after the titular character of his favorite film.

Aaron is repped at Echo Lake Entertainment and RBEL Agency.
