YUNHAO ZHANG
Storyboard & 3D Artist, Disney Television Animation
Yunhao Zhang is a story and 3D artist, born and raised in Huzhou, a small city in China with only TWO MILLION people. As a little kid, though his body was dedicated to math and science, his soul was driven into the fantastic world of animation. He took every opportunity to watch anime, TV shows, and movies whenever his parents weren't home.
In 2011, graduating from one of the top engineering universities in China, struggling for many years between the person he wanted to be and expected to be, Yunhao finally took a leap of faith to embrace his love for animation. Never traveled far from home, he flew 6000 miles for the first time and came to the US to study computer animation at Ringling College of Art and Design.
He started his career at Blizzard Entertainment on projects including Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void, Heroes of the Storm, and World of WarCraft. Following that, he joined Rooster Teeth Production on an anime-style series named RWBY, responsible for storyboarding all the significant action sequences for the entire volume 4. In 2017, Yunhao joined the Disney family to storyboard on MONSTERS AT WORK, and most recently MOON GIRL and DEVIL DINOSAUR. During which time, he also worked on a couple of feature animated films, including WHITE SNAKE and GARFIELD.
The past years have been a flash filled with joy and excitement from creating characters and their journeys one after another. Yunhao hopes to continue expanding his animation and filmmaking journey, creating inspirational stories and fantastic worlds onto the screen to the curious audience, just like he once was and still is.
