TARA JOSHI

Manager, Comedy and Drama Development, Lionsgate Television

Tara Joshi is a manager of comedy and drama development at Lionsgate Television, an independent studio that focuses on left-of-center content that spans a variety of tones and genres.

Born to an experimental physicist and an investment manager, Tara inherited neither talent and instead focused her time on musical theater and Bharatanatyam, an Indian Classical Dance form. She developed a passion for entertainment at a young age and a deep appreciation for development and production in college.

Prior to working at Lionsgate, Tara was a creative executive at Sutton Street Productions, Jennie Snyder Urman and Joanna Klein’s production company with CBSTV Studios. There, she worked on over a dozen female-forward series set up all over town.

Tara graduated with a BA from Dartmouth College, where she majored in Geography and Spanish and had an awesome cover band with Sid Mehra, a CAPE alum. In her free time, she watches A LOT of YouTube, buys new songs on iTunes because she still doesn’t have Spotify or Apple Music, and dunks in the ocean after a run on LA’s premier esplanade.

Tara is excited to develop content that showcases the rich tapestry of our society. She loves uncovering new perspectives and hopes the next generation has access to shows that represent their upbringings and backgrounds.
