Ming-Na Wen, Tati Gabrielle Among CAPE's Inaugural Radiance Honorees

Actresses Ming-Na Wen and Tati Gabrielle, along with Partner Track showrunner Georgia Lee and Everything Everywhere All at Once costume designer Shirley Kurata, are among those being honored by the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment as part of its new Radiance event.

Hosted by CAPE, the non-profit that has spent more than 30 years advancing Asian American and Pacific Islander representation in Hollywood, Radiance is a first-of-its-kind celebratory fundraiser that honors the achievements of API women and nonbinary artists in entertainment. The inaugural event will be hosted by The Last of Us star Merle Dandridge and held on March 21 at L.A.’s The Ebell, an educational and philanthropic organization founded by women for women in 1894.

Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) celebrates the all-female 2021 graduating class of creative executives of their fifth annual CAPE Leaders Fellowship, a selective incubator to equip the next generation of creative executives with the skills and professional network to break into the VP ranks.

Having successfully run development programs for screenwriters and creative executives for many years, the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment is now turning to animation.

The nonprofit’s new CAPE Animation Directors Accelerator, powered by Sony Pictures Entertainment for 2021, will give rising API animation directors the opportunity to boost their careers through one-on-one executive mentorship as well as panels, workshops and masterclasses with high-level industry execs, producers and creatives.
